In every step we take, every cookie we bake, and in every glass, we pour Hard Work, Generosity, Perseverance, Excellence and Gratefulness.

Kelan Watson, Owner/Founder 

Kelan Watson still nurtures the sweet-tooth that she cherished as a child growing up in Atlanta. Today, as the owner and founder of Sovereign Sweets, Kelan is excited to bring together her passion for sweets with her unique talent for creating special moments and lifelong memories. The central experience of treats – treating others and treating one’s self – lies at the heart of Kelan’s mission for Sovereign Sweets. “We work so hard in our careers and in our personal lives that everyone needs a break, and a reward.” She learned from her grandmother, JoAnne, and mother, Sonja, the importance of small rewards (often hot baked fresh from the oven)! to keep our energy focused and our juices flowing. Coming together with friends and family to share a sweet treat, to raise a glass, and bring a fresh smile to our days and evenings is the vision that drives the whole team at Sovereign Sweets to deliver the best experience you can imagine. 

Vincent Watson, Managing Partner 

Vincent began his hospitality journey at the age of 14 as a host at a local Mexican cantina. With the skills he acquired due to his intuitive work-ethic, he rapidly elevated to the position of server assistant at one of the best casual dining establishments in the industry. He was already in management by the age of 16. Fast forward to the age of 25, he took on the title of entrepreneur after founding his first business Contemporary Essentials, his interior design firm. Due to his industriousness, he became one of the most sought after, and youngest, interior designers in the industry. Needless to say, Vincent soared very quickly. He credits his innate hospitality to his upbringing; his kind and loving family taught the art of giving. He is the youngest of his four sisters, and the values that have been instilled in him have given him a heart of gold. For instance, Vincent understands the importance of giving. Through his philanthropic work, he has been blessed to positively impact the lives of many.

His newest baby, Sovereign Sweets, has become Atlanta’s hot spot in a matter of weeks thanks to Vincent’s leadership. From hosting celebrity birthday parties such as Missy Elliott’s Iconic Birthday celebration, to handling day-to-day operations, Vincent does not take leading the family business lightly. The superior service and love infused in Sovereign Sweets is a direct reflection of everything he stands for.  Vincent thanks God for the opportunity to bring forth a new and exclusive vibe to the city, and is looking forward to introducing YOU to the Sovereign Experience.
